- Choose your settings The defaults suit most files, so you can usually leave them alone.
- Press Unlock PDF Processing happens on our servers, so your device stays free while it works.
- Download the result Save your file. It is deleted from our servers automatically afterwards.

Unlock PDF runs on our file-processing service, which is still being set up. Rather than have you upload a file we know we cannot process, we have turned the upload off.

Unlock PDF removes the password from a document you can already open, so you stop having to type it every single time. It is not a password cracker, and it never will be — you must supply the correct password.
Frequently asked questions
I forgot the password. Can you get in anyway?
No. We will not build that, and AES-256 makes it computationally infeasible in any case.
Is it legal to remove a PDF password?
On your own documents, or ones you are authorised to access, yes. On someone else's confidential file, no. Use your judgement.
