Flatten PDF

Bake form fields and comments into the page.

This tool isn't available yet

Flatten PDF runs on our file-processing service, which is still being set up. Rather than have you upload a file we know we cannot process, we have turned the upload off.

These work right now

They run entirely in your browser, so nothing is uploaded at all.

A filled-in PDF form still holds editable fields — anyone who opens it can change your answers. Flatten PDF turns those fields, and any comments or annotations, into ordinary page content that cannot be edited back.

Frequently asked questions

When should I flatten a PDF?

Before sending a completed form, so the recipient receives your answers rather than an editable draft. Also useful when a form renders differently in different viewers.

Will the text still be selectable?

Yes. Flattening converts fields to page content, not to an image, so text stays selectable and searchable.
